Our level 1 foundations classes are specifically for those new to the apparatus. They are designed to help you get acquainted with moving in the apparatus while also building strength, control, and body awareness. Movements are done on the ground or low to the ground, and each instructor comes to class with modifications for different body types and backgrounds to meet you where you are!
We also have several all-levels classes that focus on mobility, strength, and flow. These are designed to help you have a balanced movement practice.
If you have previous experience and need help deciding on which level is best for you, don’t hesitate to email us at info@bellinghamaerialanddance.com

Yes. We encourage you to document your progress and celebrate your milestones! We do require that you do have verbal permission/consent of those in the background of your videos and pictures.

Aerial Classes
For all aerial classes - including fly pole - we recommend tight-fitting leggings and a top. You should be able to move freely and feel comfortable in your clothes but not have them get in the way. You can wear shorts but you are more likely to get tender spots on your legs from the apparatus.Pole
For our pole classes, we recommend shorts or skorts where you can get skin contact with your legs. For our foundations and beginner classes, mid-length bike shorts are great.
Floor Classes
We recommend clothes you can move freely in.
We do not allow metal or anything that can scratch the apparatus or equipment. Please remove all belts and jewelry before class.
-
To level up you must fulfill the pass offs for that class. Our instructors use these pass offs as a basis of movement when designing each class. You can find those in our class descriptions on our website & fitDEGREE, in our handbooks in the studio or on discord, or by asking your instructor.
An instructor will need to see and sign off for each pass off before you can progress to the next level.

Our weekly aerial and pole classes are designed for two students to share an apparatus. We do this to help keep our classes affordable, to facilitate learning and foster community.
Affordablity - Renting a space, maintaining safe equipment, fairly paying our instructors, and continuing to give back to our larger community is expensive. We want to create a sustainable business while keeping our classes as affordable as possible. Sharing apparatus enables us to do this.
Learning - We know through research that resting our body and observing movement in other bodies is an important part of understanding and retaining the movement in your body.
Community - Sharing an apparatus continues to foster connection and community, a core value at the studio. Our community loves to celebrate each other!
