July Instructor Highlight: Max Rodzon
The B.A.D. Team is an important part of our studio community, and we want you to get to know them as well as we do! This month’s instructor highlight is B.A.D. founder, and Mom to Griffin, Max Rodzon!
Referred to as our ‘founding father’ by Zoe, Max is the owner and an instructor at Bellingham Aerial & Dance (B.A.D.), where they blend a lifelong love of movement with an inclusive, community-centered approach to aerial arts. Their dance journey began early with ballet lessons and spinning in the kitchen wearing socks. Though their dance training paused during college and grad school, the spark reignited years later thanks to their friend Tiffany Rose Mockler, a professional pole dancer and teacher. Tiffany suggested they try pole, but Max was immediately drawn to the aerial silks—and never looked back. It would take about three years before Max branched out from silks to explore lyra, pole, and other apparatus, deepening both their artistry and connection to movement. Today, they bring creativity, empathy, and curiosity to every class, encouraging students to find joy and strength in their own bodies.
Max teaches silks, hammock, lyra, fly pole and active flex but what about when they are not at the studio?
Max Outside The Studio
Max enjoys all things cozy. Knitting, cross-stitching, drawing, painting, handmade mugs, reading ,and cuddle puddles with Griffin and David. They also really enjoy all things water and nature, be it a hike/walk in the forest, being in or on top of water, or tending to the plants in and out of their house. They love to share a good meal with friends.
